Get Rid of Crab Spiders

Females crab spiders lay their eggs in sets of twos and hide them on flowers or plants. These spiderlings will hatch in a few months while the mother guards the eggs. The life span for a crab spider is around one year.

Brown crab spiders do not spin webs but still hunt large insects in plants and trees. They move sideways similar to other species of crab spiders and their bites are not considered harmful to humans.

Giant crab spiders range from two to two and a half inches in size. They prefer the hot, dry climate of the southwestern U.S. It hides under rocks and rubble doing the day to hunt at night.

The Michigan crab spider lives and hunts on the ground using its natural camouflage to blend in with the soil. It is able to feed off unsuspecting prey with a bite of their paralyzing venom.

Although venomous, crap spider bites are not harmful to humans outside the rare case of an allergic reaction. The venom is significantly more fatal to the large insects that it preys on.
